Padang Aro (ANTARA) -  A Toddler in Solok Selatan Regency, W Sumatra Aldi Kurniawan (4) drifted in Batang Pulakek after slipping while crossing a bridge made of bamboo at 10.30 am, on Friday.

"After the child slipped, the mother holding the baby screamed for help. "Residents help the toddler and take him to the hospital but his life was beyond help " said the head of Pauah Duo Bujang Basri, in Padang Aro.

He explained, when crossing the bamboo bridge that only four sticks the toddler were actually accustomed so that his mother did not guide him.

But when the incident happened, he slipped right at the end of the bridge and fell into the river.

"It is possible that when crossing the bamboo bridge it was still wet because it rained in the morning so it was slippery," he said.

While his father at the time of the incident were heading to Jambi and had been informed by the family.

At present he has been brought by the his family to his house to be buried.

Head of the Koto Parik Gadang Diateh Subdistrict, Syahrul Munir, said that the six houses that were washed away were in Nagari Balun because they were hit by the Batang Batang River.

The strong currents due to increased water discharge also cause the 300 meter alternative road in Kandang Banih to crack. This road damage has caused access to residents of the Sungai Pangkua  to be disrupted.

The blow of the Batang Suliti River currents also caused damage to a resident's house on the Sungai Ipuah .
