The Government of Pariaman City, W Sumatra will renovate the roller skate arena located at Pantai Cermin in 2020 by building a tribune on the East side and extending the runway.
"We pointed the Tribune to the West which is a beach so as not to disturb the view of the audience to the sea," Pariaman Mayor, Genius Umar said in Pariaman on Tuesday.
He said the construction of the tribune because so far the audience was not free to watch roller skate athletes race in the arena, so the City Government of Pariaman built the facility.
While extending the roller skate races because the length of the sports facilities built in 2017 was less than 200 meters.
According to him, the renovation will not only support the implementation of roller skating events both at national and international levels but also add to the attraction of Pantai Cermin.
Moreover, he said next year the Pariaman City Government planned to hold two roller skate competitions for the national and international levels.
He explained the construction of facilities and the implementation of sporting events on the beach was an effort by his side to bring tourists through sport tourism.
Secretary of the Pariaman City Youth and Sports Education Office, Hertati Taher said that currently the related agency is still calculating how much budget is needed to renovate the skate arena.
"While we are now focused on preparing for the implementation of two times the roller skating events in 2020," he said.
