Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative of West Sumatra holds a low-cost market by providing various basic necessities at Sudirman Street, Padang on May 30-31, 2018.
 
"This is our program to help people in getting basic needs at a cheaper price," Chief of BI Representative of West Sumatra Office, Endy Dwi Tjahjono said in here on Wednesday.
 
According to him, people need a variety of basic needs during Ramadhan (fasting month) and BI helps people with low-priced markets that are lower than in the market.
 
"BI is working with Department of Trade and Industry in deploying low-cost market," he noted.
 
For goods which are sold by BI, it is brought directly from the farmers, especially those being built from red chili, vegetables, onions, frozen food to cooking oil and imported frozen meat.
 
"We involve nine major distributors and Bulog so that the price is more affordable," he said.
 
In addition, BI also holds cheap market in several other locations such as Piai Nan XX, Lubuk Begalung on May 22-23, in front of Mushalla of Kalawi Village Ulak Karang Utara, North Padang Sub-district on May 24-25.
 
Then Balai Gadang Village, Koto Tangah Sub-district on May 30-31 May and Kurao Pagang Village, Nanggalo Sub-district on June 7-8, 2018. (cha)
