Padang Panjang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra is increasing the capacity of tourism businesses and creative economy as an effort to encourage the progress of tourism in the crossing area.
"In addition to the progress or profits in their respective businesses, we hope that their efforts will help tourism promotion of Padang Panjang," Secretary of local Tourism Office, Dalius stated in Padang Panjang, Thursday.
Activities undertaken in improving the capacity of tourism business actors are training tour and product development for creative business actors which is conducted for three days on March 21 to 23, 2018.
Implementation of the debriefing as a step to expand regional tourism promotion efforts because they interact directly with visitors who come to the area, he remarked.
"In promoting regional tourism, some steps are done through official city government website and mass media. Then, tourism actors also need to be involved to share the information," he pointed out.
For 40 participants of tourism guides, they equipped with knowledge about travel, communication ability and information about tourism activities of Padang Panjang and its supporting facilities.
Besides, as for the creative economy, followed by 20 participants in order to make products that can display tourism in Padang Panjang.
Meanwhile, the instructor in the training, Izan Qomarats said that tourism business is one of the promising businesses where the perpetrators can continue to create innovation.
"In capacity building, we introduce the basic science of learning graphic design, batik, clothing design and makeup," he added. (cha)
