Padang (ANTARA) - The Tourism Office of Padang City, West Sumatra projected four places as the mainstay tourist destinations that are ready to compete with other popular destinations.
"Now there are four places that we project in the form of island tourism destinations, baths and panoramas, the preparation process has begun," said Head of Tourism Office, Arfian, in Padang, Sunday.
The three places are Pulau Pisang Gadang (island), Bukit Karan(hill), Bendungan Niagara Koto Pulai (dam), and Bendungan Koto Tuo.
He said that for the Bukit Karan and the Pulau Pisang Gadang, Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) had been formed, while the other two were being communicated.
"Tourism awareness group will develop the destination, while the City Government will provide assistance and facilitate it," he said.

The City Government will also support through promotions and holding events at the location.
In 2021, the tourist destination has been running as a tourist choice that is worth visiting by tourists.
He explained that Pulau Pisang Gadang is an island tour that has a wide expanse and fascinating eyes.
At that location there is also a cultural heritage site, can dive, and the distance is not far if crossing from Air Manis Beach. While the Bukit Karan is a natural tourism that presented the beautiful panorama.
Whereas Koto Pulai and Koto Tuo in Koto Tangah Subdistrict can be used as bathing destinations.
