Corona outbreak does not affect tourist visits to Solok Selatan

Padang Aro (ANTARA) - Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak did not affect tourist visits to Solok Selatan Regency, West Sumatra because the visitors were dominated by local guests.

"Tourists visiting Solok Selatan are dominated by local tourists so the corona virus outbreak has not affected the number of visits," Head of the Solok SelatanTourism and Culture Office Harry Trisna in Padang Aro said on Friday.

According to him, if there is a decrease in the number of tourist visits to Solok Selatan it is not because of the corona virus but due to weather conditions.

"Since the corona virus outbreak, the level of tourist visits to Solok Selatan is still as usual, because our guests are more surrounding communities and areas around the West Sumatra region," he said.

he will optimize the visit of local tourists by holding travel dialogues and exhibitions.

He said, tourists visiting Solok Selatan is still as usual and since the corona virus outbreak it has not been visited by foreign guests.

For tourist destinations managed by the government it just hot water boom Sapan Malulung that is charged an entrance fee.

During the January and February 2020 hot water boom destinations were visited by 1,696 local tourists consisting of 1,357 adult tourists and 339 student guests.

"The visit to the hot water boom is still stable where in January there were 882 people and in February there were 814 people," he said.

As for the number of visits to other destinations such as the area of one thousand Rumah Gadang in Koto Baru, Batu Kapal cave, Rumah Gadang Panjang in Abai, managed by the Tourism Awareness Group of each destination.
