Pertamina applies B30 fuel sales in West Sumatra

Padang (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I will implement the sale of B30 fuel for bio-diesel and dexlite in W Sumatra by 2020 with a sales target of 10 percent.

Roby Hervindo, Manager of Communication & CSR Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I, through his press release in Padang on Friday said that this application was also carried out in the provinces of Aceh and the Riau Islands.

According to him Pertamina as a national energy company committed to developing new renewable energy, has realized the B20 bio-diesel fuel.

This type of diesel fuel is a mixture of B2.5 Fatty Acid Mathyl Ester (FAME) with Diesel Fuel.

This year, the realization has increased by 5.59 million KL for all sectors.

He said in 2020, the government set the composition of FAME from B20 to B30. That is, the FAME mix to 30 percent.

Previously Pertamina Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I conducted a trial of B30 program implementation in North Sumatra from 1 to 31 December 2019.

"The pilot project of the B30 program was carried out in North Sumatra Province, namely the Medan Fuel Terminal (FT). This facility supplies B30 to 256 gas stations. "

He said since early December until now FT Medan Group has distributed as many as 47 thousand kilo liters (KL) B30. Until now, trials have not encountered obstacles.

He explained that related to price, the application of B30 will not affect current prices.

According to him B30 is a fuel that is more environmentally friendly because of exhaust emissions that have a low level of pollution without reducing vehicle performance.

He explained that FAME as a mixture of B30 also has a Soap Effect, which can clean the combustion channel by lifting sediment from the vehicle so that it has a relatively clean and environmentally friendly combustion.
