Most Tourists Who Visit W Sumatra Are Malaysian

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of West Sumatra noted that in 2017 the province is most visited by foreign tourists from Malaysia with the number of travelers reached 44,201 people.

After Malaysia the most visited foreign tourists came from Thailand as much as 2662 people, France 478 people, Australia 407 people, the United States 304 people, the Philippines 372 people and UK 372 people.

"Of the 56,313 foreign tourists who visit West Sumatra most from Malaysia, in 2017 the number increased 14.16 percent compared to 2016 which only 38,453 people," West Sumatra BPS Head, Sukardi stated in Padang, Thursday.

On the other hand he conveyed the visit of foreign tourists to West Sumatra in 2017 increased 13.34 percent compared to 2017.

He ensures that the recorded numbers are tourists who enter through immigration at Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) because if previously from Jakarta or Medan it will be recorded through arrival airport. (cha)
