Pariaman Immediately Relocates Merchants in Gandoriah Beach

Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The City Government of Pariaman, West Sumatra, immediately relocates street vendors who are selling theirs around Gandoriah Beach resort to pujasera building or open dining area to create a well-organized tourist attraction.

"The Pujasera has been revitalized and at the latest 18 merchants are relocated in February 2018," Head of Culture and Tourism of Pariaman Municipality, Elfis Candra stated in Pariaman on Thursday.

The street vendors are currently selling around the postal guard area of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

The relocation is done because the location will be used as a parking lot to support the pavilion of Gandoriah Beach pier which is entering the completion stage.

The local government, along with dozens of merchants to be relocated, had been meeting by agreeing to occupy the new place, he said.

"Merchants agreed to be relocated. It also aims to support the tourism sector of Pariaman Municipality," he said.

After occupying the place, the traders will be levied according to the Regional Regulation (Perda) number 6 of 2015 on the levy of local wealth use.

To revitalize the pujasera building, he said, local government spent approximately Rp900 million from Special Allocation Fund (DAK). (cha)
