Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - Tourist visits to Museum Buya Hamka in Tanjungraya Subdistrict, Agam Regency, W Sumatra down 50 percent from 60 people to 30 people per day during the new normal COVD-19.

The Buya Hamka Museum guide, Dasril (67) in Lubukbasung, on Saturday said tourist visits from the 30 people was on the weekend.
 
"On normal days the number of visits is only three to 10 people every day and there are no foreign tourists visiting here," he said.

He said, Museum Buya Hamka began to be closed during the COVID-19 pandemic on March 23, 2020.

The museum was re-opened on June 29, 2020 after the new normal implementation.

"We only make improvements when the museum is closed," he said.
The Museum Buya Hamka provides a collection of books by Buya Hamka at the reading house.

In addition Buya Hamka's legacy such as typewriters, clothes, chairs, charter and others.

One visitor from Medan, Sukri Ardi (42) added that he deliberately brought his children to see the Museum Buya Hamka.

"This is to introduce a scholars from Agam to my children, because Buya Hamka is very well known in the world," he said.

He hopes the local government will manage the museum well and complete the collection of Buya Hamka's legacy.
