Padang (ANTARA) - Governor of W Sumatra Irwan Prayitno said that currently W Sumatra has entered into economic recovery by fulfilling the requirements of epidemiological studies and calculating a positive decline in COVID-19.

This was conveyed by the Governor of W Sumatra as the main speaker in Webinar of the Indonesian Accounting Association (IAI) of W Sumatra at the governor's official residence on Thursday.

"If it is stated to enter the green zone or at least the yellow zone it has can enter the economic recovery," said Irwan Prayitno.

Irwan also said from the WHO epidemiological study that the number of reproduction continues to be under one in the context of at least two weeks, it means that in more than two weeks it must be under one.

"And transmission cannot be more than one, then also in terms of controlling COVID-19 local transmissions, our imported transmissions must be able to control with some guidelines," he said.

He added that to recover the economy, the health system must be ready and the community must also be ready to follow the health protocol. In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the midst of the community.

"W Sumatra statistically always be the highest in the Gross Regional Domestic Product in the agriculture, animal husbandry, plantation, fishery and forestry sectors so that it reaches 22 percent to 23 percent. The point is the most labor sector from agriculture is more than 50 percent. So,  the agricultural sector is not affected by any of its products, "he said.

Related to agriculture and plantations through the regional apparatus in charge of agriculture, livestock trading industry and also with MSMEs conduct various policies to accelerate the distribution of fertilizer, seeds, marketing and including support from the agricultural sector to fisheries plantations.

Then for MSMEs, trade and tourism and services are the most affected businesses since large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) are applied.

"For tourism and restaurants have many obstacles, the authority of the Regent / Mayor has given a lot of relief by not paying restaurant, hotel taxes and may postpone payments or make concessions free of fines," said Irwan

W Sumatra Governor explained, related to the economic recovery for the tourism sector such as hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions have been opened including accepting foreign tourists with the conditions that tourists and traders must safe from COVID-19 by showing the results of a swab test and then following the health protocol.

In fact that currently tourists from abroad or foreign tourists have came to W Sumatra, then from neighboring areas have also came.
