Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The Government of Agam Regency, W Sumatra has reopened all tourist attractions in the area after the new normal was enforced in the area.

The Head of Agam's Youth and Sports Tourism Office, Syatria in Lubukbasung, said Monday that the tourism attractions had opened on Monday (6/8), after several months had closed in anticipation of the spread of COVID-19.

"We closed the tourist attractions since several months ago during the first Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB)," he said.

He said that every tourist attraction must provide a place to wash hands at the entrance location.

Officers and visitors must pay attention to COVID-19 health protocols such as wearing masks and washing hands in the space provided.

In addition, visitors will be checked their body temperature by officer.

"The COVID-19 health protocol is not only in tourist areas, but in other regions," he said.

He added that the manager of a tourist attraction may not carry out activities that cause a crowd.

This is to maintain distance as a step to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

"We hope that with the reopening of tourist attractions there will be no additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Agam," he said.

With the reopening of attractions, activities related to tourism can move again, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Agam Regent, Indra Catri added the number of tourist visits in tourist attractions must be limited.

"Previously there were 500 visits and now tourist visits are allowed just for 250 visitors," he said.
