Padang (ANTARA) - The satisfying results were recorded by the Padang City Government in the 2019 W Sumatra Expo in Medan, Nov 14-17, 2019. At the annual event, the Government of Padang stand won the 2nd best stand. The award was handed over directly by the Deputy Governor of W Sumatra, Nasrul Abit, to the Chairperson of the National Craft Council of Padang City, Mrs. Harneli Mahyeldi, on Sunday afternoon.
"Thank God, our stand won second place," said Mrs. Harneli Mahyeldi after receiving the award at the closing of the 2019 W Sumatra Expo at Lapangan Merdeka, Medan.
The stand owned by the Padang Government has indeed been predicted to win at the W Sumatra Expo in Medan because it is always crowded with visitors. The stand was quite unique from other participant areas.
Not only displaying MSME products, there is also a wall display that always shows the company profile of Padang City. This wall display is the attention of visitors. Including installing a mini tagline that reads "Padang" in front of the stand.
Meanwhile, Head of the Economy of Regional Secretariat, Padang, Swesti Fanloni, said that the Padang stand from the beginning had a modern, minimalist and ethnic theme on the stand. The Government of Padang combines the three themes into one so that it impresses modern style without leaving Minang culture.
Swesti expressed her great thanks and appreciation for the full support of the Regional Organization (OPD) team in the scope of the Government of Padang who participated in the W Sumatra Expo.
"This achievement is the result of extraordinary teamwork, and the best efforts of each OPD team," she said.
