Pariaman (ANTARA) - The Government of the City of Pariaman, W Sumatra will utilize the opening of the Tour de Singkarak (TdS) on November 1, 2019 to promote the best local tourism objects.

The Mayor of Pariaman, Genius Umar in Pariaman, said on Wednesday that the opening of TdS will bring the Minister of Tourism and invited guests from various countries and regions, so it must be utilized to introduce the tourism program in the City of Pariaman.

The same thing was done by his party at the closing of the 2018 TdS held in the City of Pariaman namely inaugurating the tourist area of Kata Beach.

"For this year, we are still looking for information on whether the minister is coming or not," he said.

If the minister will attend the opening ceremony, then he will introduce a number of other leading tourism objects in the City of Pariaman.

"Later we will introduce the mangrove forest or mangrove tourism area that will be developed, or it could be Gandoriah tourism area," he said.

He explained the introduction of this attraction to ask for support from the ministry in order to accelerate the development of attractions in the City of Pariaman.

Previously Pariaman City Government prepared traditional arts from the area to entertain as well as introduce them to guests at the opening of TdS on November 1.

"The purpose of TdS is basically to promote tourism in W Sumatra, so we use this to promote what we have in Pariaman," said Head of the Pariaman City Tourism and Culture Office, Alfian in Pariaman, on Thursday.

He said the art was not only displayed at the opening of the TdS, but also the start of stage I of the bicycle race on Saturday Nov 2.

He delivered the opening and the start of the race is held at Pantai Gandoriah which is expected to boost the promotion of tourism objects in Pariaman maximally.
