Batusangkar (ANTARA) - Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Sumatera Barat, akan dilewati dua etape atau stage Tour de Singkarak (TdS) 2019, yakni etape pertama dan ketiga.
"The two stages in the first stage started at Pantai Gandoriah in Pariaman City, finishing at Basa Pagaruyung Palace, and the three-stage is start in Harau Valley, Limapuluh Kota Regency, finished in Padang Panjang City," said Head of Tanah Datar Efrison Tourism in Batusangkar, on Friday.
He said, specifically for the first stage was the moment to promote and boost tourism in Tanah Datar. Because TdS participants will finish at Istano Basa Pagaruyung.
It was planned that at that moment there would also eating together with tdS riders and also displayed some traditional arts.
"Tour de Singkarak is one of the '100 Indonesian calendar of events', even including international events, which is good for tourism in Tanah Datar," he said.
He said in addition to promoting and increasing tourism visits, TdS is believed to also have a positive impact on the region and the community. For example road repairs and increased buying and selling for small and large traders.
Therefore, he appealed to the public to participate in enlivening the event, especially for the people whose area the bicycle racing route passed.
He also reminded the public to remain cautious when drivers crossed the area. Because it can be dangerous for drivers and yourself.
Previously Deputy Governor of W Sumatra Nasrul Abit said the 2019 TdS event would be held in nine stages which will be opened in Kota Pariaman on November 2.
Different from the previous year, Jambi Province entered into two stages of nine stages planned for 2019 TdS. Namely Kerinci and Sungai Penuh entered in stage 7 and stage 8.
The participation of the two regions in Jambi Province was a new history during the implementation of the TdS held since 2009 which only involved regencies and cities in W Sumatra.
