
Some tourist destinations in Agam invaded visitors during holidays

Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The visits to tourist destinations in Agam Regency, West Sumatra has increased doubled from 500-700 people per day to 2,000 people per day during long holidays since October 28-31, 2020.
Head of the Agam Tourism and Youth Sports Office, Syatria in Lubukbasung, Saturday, said that the increase in visits had almost occurred in all tourist objects in Agam, especially Satu Juta Janjang Tourist Attraction, Linggai Park, Pantai Tiku, a tourist attraction in Puncak Lawang.
"Especially for the tourist attraction area in Puncak Lawang, the visitors only briefly enjoy the beauty of Lake Maninjau from the altitude," he said accompanied by the Head of Tourism Business Cooperation and Tourism Development Cooperation, Metrizon.
He said, each tourist attraction visited by about 500 people per day and usually only 100-150 people per day.
The visitors came from Agam, regencies and cities in West Sumatra.
Some even come from neighboring provinces such as Riau, Jambi and North Sumatra.
"It is estimated that on Saturday and Sunday the number of visits will increase. On Saturday (10/31) the Linggai Park Tourism Object area was hit by heavy rain," he said.
He added, while at the tourist attraction, visitors must apply health protocols by wearing masks, maintaining distance and using a hand sanitizer.
"We don't want any visitors who are positive for COVID-19," he said.
One of the visitors to Pantai Tiku, Afrida, added that she brought the family to the tourist attraction for vacation, after several months did not go for vacation since the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I take advantage of long holidays to bring children to enjoy the beauty of the beach," she said.
