BMKG Launched GAWku Application

Palupuah, Agam, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Climatology and Geophysics Meteorology Agency (BMKG) The Global Atmospheric Observation Station (GAW) Bukit Kototabang, Agam District, West Sumatra launched GAWku application on Tuesday.
GAWku application was officially launched by BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati at office of BMKG Station GAW Bukit Kototabang.
Head of BMKG Station Bukit Kototabang GAW, Hartanto in Palupuah, Tuesday, said the application is useful as a complementary information that has been disseminated through the website as well as BMKG's official social media accounts.
GAWku app is a product of BMKG Station GAW Bukit Kototabang. GAWku stands for Global Atmosphere Watch - air quality.
Besides standing as air quality abbreviations, 'ku' also has the meaning of belonging to, belongs together that GAW has a role for society.
The information available in the application is in line with GAW station's main tasks on atmospheric monitoring and then other information that includes the main task of BMKG.
Additional information such as weather warnings, daily weather forecasts, days without rain, hot spot monitoring and others.
"We are also collaborating with Lapan because the data that we collect is sourced from there," he noted.
The application can already be downloaded but only available in playstore or can be used by android user.
With the application, it is expected to accelerate the dissemination of information and fulfill the needs of community for information related to BMKG duties.
"Through information in GAWku, it hopes to increase awareness and anticipation of certain conditions. In general, we will continue to develop this application," he added. (cha)
