Minangkabau Airport Train Arrived in Padang

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The train which will be operated in Simpang Haru Padang Station to Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) route arrived in Padang, West Sumatra on Wednesday by using Dewa Samudera Abadi ship from Jakarta. "Four train units that arrived consisted of two cars and two railbus locomotives," Marketing Manager of PT Samudera Indonesia Eko Hadi Prasetyo as the person in charge of delivery stated in Padang. According to him, the train made by PT Inka has passed the operation test conducted in Madiun. "The trains are loaded through rail from Madiun to Jakarta and dismantled at Tanjung Priok Port, then increased to the ship. The the process of unloading in Bayur Bay about two days," he explained. After unloading process at Teluk Bayur Port, the train will be sent directly to Simpang Haru Padang, he said. Previously the Governor of West Sumatra Irwan Prayitno set Minangkabau Express as the name of the train of BIM-Simpang Haru, Padang. The name was chosen from three names previously prepared namely Pedati Express, Ranah Minang Express and Minangkabau Express. The train is consisting of five series of 200-person capacity vans and it is planned to operate in April or May 2018.
