Lubukbasung, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Agam Ditrict, West Sumatra, plans to hold a low-cost market of basic necessities ahead of Ramadhan 1439 Hijriah as the anticipation of price increases in the area.
Head of Department of Fisheries and Food Security of Agam, Ermanto in Lubukbasung, Tuesday said that the cheap market will be held one Sunday before Ramadhan by providing 500 packages of basic necessities containing various products.
"Implementation of cheap market will be held at Padang Baru Impress Market, Lubukbasung Sub-district," he said.
Staples provided in the form of cooking oil, chicken eggs, rice, chili, onion, sugar and others.
For the low-cost market, it works together with a number of distributors and Bulog.
"Every package we subsidize and the price is cheaper than the market price," he remarked.
The cheap market is an annual agenda ahead of Ramadhan to stabilize goods prices in the area before Ramadan.
It is considering the price of basic necessities always rise ahead of Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, Head of Trade Section, Department of Trade Industry Cooperative and Small Medium Enterprises of Agam, Nelfia Fauzana added, currently there are some basic necessities that have gone up such as the price of onion Rp30 thousand per kilogram from the price of Rp25 thousand, potatoes Rp11 thousand per kilogram from the previous price Rp8 thousand, and beans Rp16 thousand per kilogram from the previous price of Rp15 thousand.
"The price of onions and vegetables had increased due to reduced inventory in producing areas such as Banuhampu, Sungaipua and other areas," she pointed out.
While the price of basic necessities that go down like pure beef from Rp120 thousand per kilogram to Rp110 thousand, red chili from Rp50 thousand per kilogram to Rp45 thousand, garlic from Rp35 thousand per kilogram to Rp30 thousand, and carrots Rp13 thousand to Rp8 thousand.
Besides, the price of normal needs such as rice yarn island Rp12 thousand per kilogram, rice sokan Rp13 thousand per kilogram, Ir 42 Rp11 thousand per kilogram.
The price of broiler chicken meat Rp45 thousand, chicken Rp62 thousand per kilogram, chicken egg Rp2,500 per egg, duck egg Rp3,000 per egg, free-running chicken egg Rp3,000 per egg, runnred cayenne pepper Rp75 thousand per kilogram, green cayenne pepper Rp60 thousand per kilogram.
In addition, imported soybean Rp8,200 per kilogram, local soybean Rp12 thousand per kilogram, peanuts Rp20 thousand per kilogram, tomatoes Rp10 thousand per kilogram and others. (cha)
