Arosuka, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Solok District, West Sumatra will develop an online based livestock business to improve local community's economy, Solok Regent Gusmal stated.
 
Gusmal in Arosuka, on Monday, said that the online livestock business which  is called the Government Apparatus Investment Cow (SIAP) is a joint venture involving local government apparatus as a partner or funder.
 
He explained that the application of livestock is the first step in developing livestock by the way of government apparatus partnering with farmers.
 
Through i-livestock, everyone can be involved as an investor, both officials, businessmen and general public.
 
The advantage of breeding through the application is business managed by experienced and certified breeders, integrated distribution network, healthy livestock germs, profitable and the existence of risk control through livestock insurance.
 
Meanwhile, Head of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service of West Sumatra Province, Eri Naldi said i-livestock is the first investment program that should be developed to support farmers income, financiers and local governments as the manager.
 
"The targets of business are hotels, restaurants and catering businessmen who need meat every day," he remarked.
 
Moreover, Solok District has enough land and human resources to maintain and manage the farm so it will provide an opportunity for farmers to be able to improve the economy. (cha)
