Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Energy and Mineral Resources Research and Development Agency (ESDM) assesses that the electricity supply for Teluk Tapang port in West Pasaman District, West Sumatra can be fulfilled from renewable energy sources such as geothermal or microhydro.
"Teluk Tapang port requires additional supply of electricity that is widely available in West Sumatra even in the form of renewable energy sources, especially geothermal and microhydro," Head of Research and Development Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), F.X. Sutijastoto stated in Padang, Friday.
He made the remarks after meeting with Deputy Governor of West Sumatra Nasrul Abit and Regent of West Pasaman Syahiran in discussing the cooperation of new and renewable energy supply for the development of Teluk Tapang port.
According to him, the development of Teluk Tapang port will encourage economic development and open energy market.
He said the Public Service Agency in Balitbang ESDM is ready to hold partners to work on the development of geothermal power plants, PLTA / PLTMH orother EBT. (cha)
