BI Optimistics Inflation Rate is Controlled During Ramadhan

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Bank Indonesia (BI) representative of West Sumatra is optimistic that the inflation rate in the province is quite controlled ranging from 0.3 to 0.4 percent during Ramadhan (fasting month).

"Based on the monitoring of several commodities, the price is under control because of the stock so that this year inflation is estimated to be the same as last year at 0.4 percent," Chief of West Sumatra Regional Representative of BI, Endy Dwi Tjahjono stated in here on Tuesday (May 29).

He delivered it after monitoring the price of basic necessities in Raya Market Padang with West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno and related stakeholders.

According to him, the stakeholders of Regional Inflation Control Team is quite seriously in anticipating the price increase this year by doing some preparation since before Ramadhan.

Based on information collected from a number of traders in Raya Market Padang, the price of red chili is currently around Rp20 thousand per kilogram or decreased compared to previous one Rp30 thousand per kilogram in the beginning of Ramadhan.

While the price of domestic chicken also decreased from Rp45 thousand to Rp34 thousand for each.

Then, the price of beef observed remains in the range of Rp120 thousand per kilogram. (cha)
