Bulog Prepares 13,500 Tons Rice Stock

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 13,500 tons of rice stock have been prepared by Logistic Agency (Bulog) in fulfilling the needs of people during Ramadhan (fasting month) and entering Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah in West Sumatra.

"13,500 tons can fulfill the stock of five months ahead as well as for the needs of market operations, low-cost markets to fill kiosks," Head of Bulog Divre II West Sumatra, Suharto Djabar stated in here, Friday (May 25).

According to him, his party will increase the kiosk point that will be filled by Bulog this year so that rice can be available in a place that is easily accessible by people.

In addition, Bulog prepared sugar as 1,300 tons for the next three months in West Sumatra.

"Not only that, we also prepare 30 thousand liters cooking oil and it is ready to increase the stock if there is scarcity so that prices remain under control during Ramadhan," he explained.

Next, Bulog is also preparing wheat 21 tons for the needs of Eid.

Besides, in order to anticipate the needs of beef, Bulog also prepare frozen beef as much as 30 tons with the price in accordance with government regulation of Rp80 thousand per kilogram. (cha)
