Flood Hits Medan as Two River Spill Over Their Banks

Medan, N Sumatra, (Antara Sumbar)- A flood hit Medan City, North Sumatra Province, as two rivers spilled over their banks on Tuesday.

Flood waters reaching a height of between 50 cm and two meters, submerged a number of houses particularly in Sei Mati area, Medan Maimun sub-district, according to information from the Medan disaster mitigation office.

Several residents whose homes were affected by the flooding, decided to take refuge in higher grounds. (*)
