Bukittinggi Has New Tourism Object Namely Inyiak Tree House

Bukittinggi, (Antara Sumbar) - Residents of Kayu Kubu Urban Village, Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra, used the unused land to serve as a tourist attraction called "Cottage" and Rumah Pohon Inyiak (Inyiak Tree House).

One landowner, Heru Pribadi in Bukittinggi, on Thursday, said that the land used is an old tribal land that is unused and overgrown with bushes.

The land is 3.6 hectares and located in Kayu Kubu Village, Guguk Panjang Sub-district or precisely near the Sianok.

"Now there is a government program called tourist village, we want to get involved in supporting the program, with the strategic position of the land as it is near the Sianok, we see there is potential to be a family tourism place," he said.

The manager of the attraction, Ismael said it plans to build 40 to 50 lodging made of bamboo materials, with different designs according to traditional houses in Indonesia.

The venue will also feature Minangkabau culture, providing tree houses, playgrounds, and education for children.

"The trees here will be given nameplate information so that children can travel at once know the plants, so here in addition to supporting tourism, we also do reforestation," he said.

He mentioned, if the process of building a tourist attraction can run smoothly then in December 2017 it can be opened but only provide 10 lodging.

"Now while waiting for the permission from local government, we socialize to local residents about the activity so that both can support and promote economy and region," he said.

Chairman of the Institute for Community Empowerment (LPM) Kayu Kubu Village, Eril Anwar assess landowners and managers need to conduct a comprehensive socialization to community in the neighborhood.

"Because it will provide lodging, better deliberation and socialization to community leaders about the plan will be like and who can rent the inn in order to do not cause turmoil in the future," he said. (cha)
