Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-Owned PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, strengthened the commitment to bolstering the electric vehicle ecosystem by supporting PLN E-Mobility Day: Driving The Future held in Denpasar, Bali, on July 18-24, 2022.
Through a statement on Monday, BNI's Corporate Secretary, Mucharom, noted that this support aligns with State-Run Electric Company PLN's trust in BNI as a strategic partner in the efforts to expedite energy transition toward renewables.
"PLN E-Mobility Day: Driving The Future is an opportunity for us to showcase BNI's commitment to go green," he explained.
"In addition, this segment continues to show progressive growth, making it more potentially beneficial for banks to participate in developing various banking service needs starting from consumer financing and investment," he remarked.
PLN E-Mobility Day: Driving The Future invited the people to conduct transition toward clean energy by knowing more about electric vehicles.
As the biggest electric vehicle exhibition in Bali, the event featured a variety of activities, such as the Jakarta-Bali electric vehicle convoy to electric vehicle road test.
During the event, PLN invited BNI to support the acceleration of the electric vehicle ecosystem, both in terms of electric vehicles and the electric vehicle charging station.
Moreover, this charging station will be a potentially beneficial business along with the rising demand for electric vehicles in the country.
BNI is a pioneer in the banking industry as a financial institution that operates two electric vehicle charging stations through a partnership scheme in cooperation with PLN, Mucharom stated.
To encourage the optimization of these charging stations, BNI also becomes more proactive in pushing consumer banking performance for electric vehicle ownership financing.
"We provide convenience for electric vehicle ownership through BNI consumers' financing and financing through BNI's subsidiary, BNI Multifinance, with a more attractive interest rate as compared to financing for conventional car," he noted.
PLN E-Mobility Day: Driving The Future also featured an exhibition that showcased electric or battery-based four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles participated by various players in the car and motorcycle industry including Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, Wuling, DFSK, Gesit, Volta, VIAR, Smoot, and TVS.
