Padang (ANTARA) - The Padang State University (UNP) targeted 14 Study Programs can be accredited internationally in 2020 to realize the vision of becoming one of the best university in Asia.

"It is targeted that there will be 14 study programs that can be accredited internationally, four through the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and 10 more through the accreditation institution from Germany, ASIIN," said the Chairperson of the Institute for Learning and Quality Assurance Development (LP3M) Edwin Musdi at Padang, Wednesday.

He mentioned the four study programs that would be visited by the AUN-QA team in December 2020, namely the Physical Education and Recreation Program, Family Welfare Education , Counseling Guidance, and Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program.

Meanwhile, for 10 study programs that will be accredited by ASIIN are international accreditation institutions from Germany for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, and also biology, it was scheduled to be visited in October 2020.

ASIIN was chosen as one of the institutions that will accredit international study programs at UNP to pursue the target of acceleration of study programs at UNP to obtain international accreditation.

Edwin revealed that he had already registered eight other Study Programs at AUN-QA which were scheduled to be visited in 2021 and 2022.

He said, to support international certification required facilities and infrastructure that were in accordance with predetermined standards, it required quite a lot of cost to complete the facilities and infrastructure such as lecture halls, labor and other supporting facilities.

"In addition, human resources are also enhanced," he said.

He added, previously four study programs, Bachelor of English Language Education, Bachelor of Chemistry Education , Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Vocational Education had received certification from AUN-QA.

"All study programs will be accredited internationally in stages, and it needs the support of all parties and the academic community of UNP," he said.
