Padang (ANTARA) - Governor of W Sumatra, Irwan Prayitno intructed people to beware of the spead of Covid-19  by taking a number of anticipatory steps.

"The important thing is the people do not panic, but stay alert," Irwan said in Padang on Monday.

He said a number of anticipatory steps could be taken to avoid the spread of the virus, including avoiding contact with people suspected of respiratory tract infections.

Then apply clean and healthy lifestyle, especially always washing hands with soap.

The anticipatory action, said Irwan, has also been conveyed through the W  Sumatra Provincial Government's appeal which has been socialized through a number of media including social media.

Irwan also appealed to the public to consume lots of vegetables and fruits and to be diligent in carrying out physical activities.

Then use a mask and practice the cough etiqutte (keep your distance, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue and wash your hands afterwards).

If there are respiratory disturbances, consult to a health center immediately.


President Joko Widodo on Monday announced two Indonesian citizens, a 64-year-old mother and her 31-year-old daughter positive with a new type of corona virus (COVID-19).

According to the investigation, the two Indonesian citizens were infected by a Japanese citizen who visited their home.
