Padang (ANTARA) - PLN Regional Main Unit (UIW) West Sumatra succeeded in reducing the number of disturbances to zero with intensified the team to check conditions in the field.

The data shows on Saturday (8/22) there are no disturbances in feeders, substations (GI), or transmissions belonging to PLN West Sumatra.

The success in handling the disturbances were the result of the maximum effort and work of PLN officers in the field who routinely inspect and supervise the electricity network, said Senior Manager Distribution of PLN UIW West Sumatra, Arief Pramudya, Saturday.

In addition, officers also strengthen coordination and cooperation with all work partners who play a role in PLN operations.

According to Arief Pramudya, disturbances can be minimized if you can map the causes of the disturbances and make preventive efforts to prevent recurring events.

In West Sumatra, the causes of disturbance in feeders are dominated by trees, kites and animals that often perch on PLN cables.

“We have intensified the Right of Way (row) team, which routinely clears trees that hit the electricity network. PLN officers are also always standby to check conditions in the field. PLN management also often conducts care for asset visits to check the electricity network,” said Arief.

Arif said that efforts to maintain and replace old equipment are also continue to be done to improve reliability.

PLN hopes for the support and role of the community to combat disturbances, such as not playing kites around the electricity network and giving up their trees to be pruned when they hit the network.

PLN continues to strive to combat disruption until it becomes zero as a form of commitment to the best service to customers, he said.
