Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The world's largest Rafflesia flower from the Rafflesia tuan mudae species that grows in Marambuang, Nagari Baringin, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, W Sumatra began to be visited by tourists.

The Forest Ecosystem Controllers at the Agam Resort Forest Resources Conservation Center, Ade Putra in Lubukbasung, said Wednesday, the visitors came to see the largest Rafflesia Tuan-mudae flower.

"They come to the location to bring their children while immortalizing using mobile phones," he said.

He said, almost every day the flower was visited by residents around and from other regions.

For visitors who will come to see the flowers directly, they must be accompanied by the Agam Resort BKSDA officer, because the location is in the Maninjau Forest Reserve.

In addition, visitors must report to the local village guardian before entering the location.

He added, the local BKSDA officers monitor the Rafflesia Tuan-mudae every day with a diameter of 111 centimeters.

Monitoring is to determine the development of these flowers from the first day of blooming until the wilting or decaying phase.

He acknowledged that the Tuan-mudae Flower is the largest in the world after at the location had also bloomed the largest Tuan-mudae Rafflesia flower with a diameter of 107 centimeters in 2017.

The flower is the largest in the world and this is based on the results of research conducted by Rafflesia University Expert and Researcher Bengkulu University Dr. Agus Susatya.

One of the visitors, Rudi (34) admitted that it was his first time seeing the Rafflesia Tuan-Mudae flower in person and before only seeing photos of BKSDA officers.
