Padang (ANTARA) - Air Manis Beach, which is famous for its Batu Malin Kundang icon, has spoiled the eyes of visitors after being revitalized by the Padang City Government with various improvements and now the process has reached 90 percent.

"Until now the revitalization process of Air Manis Beach and Batu Malin Kundang has reached 90 percent by spending a budget of Rp13 billion," said Padang Mayor Mahyeldi Ansharullah who was visiting Air Manis Beach to monitor the progress of the revitalization on Wednesday.

He added that the funds used to carry out the revitalization use the budget from the state budget.

He also explained that some revitalized objects were in the form of a bridge to Batu Malin Kundang and the pedestrian, and the area around Batu Malin Kundang is currently elevated

"The area around Batu Malin Kundang will be elevated again and the waterway made so that the water does not enter and the object of Batu Malin Kundang can be better maintained," he said.

So that these attractions are not damaged, Mahyeldi appealed to the public to discipline themselves by protecting the attractions in the city of Padang and throwing garbage in its place.

The number one person in the city of Padang said that in 2020 there would be additional bridges and the arrangement of street vendors in the Air Manis Beach area.

"In 2020 there will be some improvements using the provincial budget of Rp. 7.1 billion," he said.

Then he said that in Eid al-Fitr in 2020 the work was completed and the community would see how the changes.
