Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - West Sumatra Provincial Government ensures the physical construction of Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road will begin in April 2018 after the administration of National Land Agency (BPN) is completed, Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) West Sumatra Fathol Bari stated in Padang, Wednesday.
"The 4.2 kilometers land of By Pass Kilometer 25 to Sicincin has been free until now and it has done land pegging," he remarked.
According to him, the Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road construction is still following the schedule given by Ministry of PUPR and targeted by the first segment of By Pass Kilometer 25 to Sicincin will be completed in June 2019.
Beginning in April 2018, West Sumatra PUPR Service also commenced the second staging process.
Currently, it is waiting for the payment process and field map from BPN, but he ensures that there are no significant obstacles in the toll road development process.
Fathol admitted that earlier Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road planning had been constrained by the problem of ulayat land, but it can be overcome by social approach done by the government.
Previously Minister of Public Works and People's Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road requires an investment of around Rp78 trillion.
The construction of Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road will be conducted in three stages until 2023, phase I is connecting By Pass Kilometer 25 to Sicincin along 28 kilometers, Bangkinang-Pekanbaru II stage along 38 kilometers, and phase III is connecting Sicincin-Bangkinang along 189 km.
When the toll road construction has been completed, then it can cut the travel time of Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru which was previously about nine hours, into three hours journey. (cha)
