Serang, Banten, (Antara Sumbar) - The province of Banten recorded an increase in its exports of farm and manufactured products in July, 2017 respectively up 35.52 percent and 29.97 percent from the previous month.

Head of the provincial office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Agoes Soebeno said Banten recorded an increase in exports from all sectors outside oil and gas sector, up 49.54 percent on the average in July, 2017.

Year-on-year, Banten's exports of commodities outside oil and gas, heavily  dominated by manufactured products, rose in July , 2017.

On the contrary, earning from the exports of farm products declined year-on-year; and exports of mining products were relatively unchanged.

Exports of oil and gas in the first seven months of this year fell  from the same period last year, Agoes said.

Exports of Banten's commodities have also been made via ports outside the province mainly from Jakarta's Tanjung Priok.

Altogether, Banten's exports from all ports have increased. The highest increase was recorded in exports made via Jakarta's Tanjung Priok, the country's largest and busiest port.

Banten's exports in July  rose 29.23 from the previous month  -- from US$766.22 million  to US$990.19 million  including US$989.97 million in commodities other than oil and gas  and US$0.22 million in oil and gas.

Its main export commodities are footwear, organic chemical stuff , iron and steel, plastics  and plastic goods, mechanic devices, copper , processed food, rubber and rubber goods , electric appliance  and paper/carton.

Its main countries of export destination are Thailand, Malaysia , the Philippines, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, India  and Australia. (*)
