Pariaman (ANTARA) - Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT), Abdul Halim Iskandar visited the "Jembatan Pelangi" attraction built by the Village Government of Kampung Kandang Village, Pariaman City, W Sumatra through village funds.
"If the village funds used for productive matters, the village will have income for Village Budget," Abdul Halim Iskandar said when visited the tourist attraction in Pariaman, Friday.
He explained that this is the difference between BUMDes (Village Owned Enterprises ) and other business sectors is cooperatives which are from, by, and for members, while BUMDes are formed based on village regulations, village deliberations, and benefits for citizens.

He mentioned that there are two benefits to be gained by the residents if its village as a tourist village, the first can be a place to relax with family and colleagues.

The second, could achieve economic benefits from the businesses carried out and the results for residents in the area through BUMDes.
Therefore, he encouraged the village government to use village funds for productive matters.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Pariaman Genius Umar said that the “Jembatan Pelangi” tourist attraction was made of bamboo so that it seemed natural and attract many people especially there is a tree house in order to add attraction to take a photo.

The”Jembatan Pelangi” tourist attraction is 360 meters long with a budget of Rp.117 million, can add to the variety of tourism in the area.
Previously the village government of Kampung Kandang, Pariaman City, W Sumatra built “Jembatan Pelangi” agrotourism using a village fund of around Rp.117 million.
"The advantage of this “Jembatan Pelangi” is as educational tourism to teach children to love nature," Genius said.
He mentioned that because in the tourist attraction there are rice fields, trees, flower gardens, and fish ponds that can be seen from the bridge.
