Sikabu village, the resilient village of COVID-19 in Pariaman
Pariaman (ANTARA) - Sikabu Village, South Pariaman Subdistrict, Pariaman City, W Sumatra has declared as the resilient village of Covid-19 because it has prepared itself to face Covid-19.
"There are a number of Sikabu assessments determined as a resilient village of COVID-19," Mayor Pariaman Genius Umar said during the launch of the resilient village "Desa Sikabu Sigap" in Pariaman on Tuesday.
The assessment was started in terms of health because they made a quarantine place so that if there were immigrants returning home they could stay in the place that had been provided and make a COVID-19 guard post.

The village was also considered to have economic resilience because it has food land, agriculture and fisheries.
"This village also has a security standard like CCTV and declared as a village free of drugs," he said.
He conveyed that Sikabu was the first village to be declared strong of COVID-19 and would later be followed by other villages in Pariaman city.
Meanwhile, Chief of Pariaman Resort Police Deny Rendra Laksmana said due to Sikabu's preparedness for COVID-19 that the village could become a model for other villages.
"So this village not only fulfills the three main assessments but has other supporting matters," he said.

He mentioned other supportings was Sikabu Village is a drug-free village as well as a village government literacy program namely wifi literacy.
He conveyed that with that advantages, the village was proposed as a contestant in commemorating Bhayangkara Day.
Sikabu Village Head Syamsuardi Koto said the construction of the quarantine place and the guardhouse since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.
He said although the village had a quarantine of migrants, it had not been used until now because when the Eid holiday, there were no immigrants returning home.
"So the immigrants have we asked not to return home, but if they return to home they are also asked to be quarantined in the place provided," he added.
