Solok Selatan will hold mass swab test to break the chain of COVID-19

Padang Aro (ANTARA) - The government of Solok Selatan Regency, W Sumatra will conduct a full swab test on 1,645 people spread throughout the village to break the chain of COVID-19 distribution.

"Full tests will be carried out Thursday and Friday. The samples were selected using multistage random sampling techniques that were proportionally determined in each villages so that 1,645 samples were selected," COVID 19 spokesman Solok Selatan Novirman said in Padang Aro on Tuesday.

The proportional is based on the number of head of family in each subdistrict and the sample distribution is determined by cluster technique.

The target sample that will be taken is residents aged 40 years and over and in one Family only one person whose sample is representative of the family.

if the sample is positive, it will easier to do tracing because the infected person was not far from his family and surroundings.

He said that the team would set around 30 residential clusters based on housing data and the number of family per village.

Clusters can be in the form of villages or RWs in urban areas and each selected cluster needs a minimum of 55 to 56 subjects that meet the survey criteria and is spread across villages with proportional to size (PPS) of the research subjects.

He mentioned before sampling he would carry out administration to the urban village level.

"We will finish the administration until tomorrow so that on Thursday (6/18) sampling can be directly carried out," he said.

He added that samples taken on Thursday will be sent Friday morning. While the samples taken Friday are sent Saturday morning.
