Agam closes tourist attractions during the Eid holiday to prevent COVID-19 transmission

Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The Government of Agam Regency, W Sumatra will continue to close all tourism objects during the Idul Fitri 1441 Hijri holiday because the area still implements large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in preventing transmission of COVID-19.

Head of Agam Youth and Sports Tourism Office, Syatria in Lubukbasung said on Friday the closure of the tourist attraction had been carried out since the first phase of the PSBB to second phase end on May 29, 2020.

"Eid holidays enter during the PSBB and tourist attractions are closed for a while," he said.

He said, the temporary closure of recreational and tourist attractions until May 29, 2020.

Managers are asked not to carry out crowd activities at tourist attractions and keep the tourist environment clean.

Agam Youth and Sports Tourism Office will send a team to review all attractions whether there are tourist attractions visited by tourists.

Usually officers also monitor the number of visits at each tourist attraction on Eid holidays.

"Specifically for attractions managed by the government, he added, it has been closed and there are some attractions managed by the private sector," he said.

The closure of this attraction is based on the Agam Regent letter No: 492 / Disparpora-Ag / 2020 concerning increasing awareness of the risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection at tourist attractions.
