W Sumatra Deputy Governor to Impose Sanctions on Social Restriction Violators

Padang (ANTARA) - Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in W Sumatra in handling COVID-19 is determined by the involvement of the community for discipline and for those who violated it will be imposed sanctions.

Discipline in conducting PSBB by staying at home, always wearing a mask when leaving the house, keeping a distance, avoiding crowds and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Deputy Governor affirmed, to push the amount of transmission, it needed supervision and patrolled in the regions, conducting community service and law enforcement as well as supervision in Land, Air and Port Borderlands.

The W Sumatra provincial government together with The National Police and the Indonesian Military will also impose sanctions for PSBB violators. These sanctions apply to individuals and also to companies.

Related to punishment, it should be in accordance with existing rules. For this reason, Nasrul Abit hopes that the community will be able to carry out PSBB in a disciplined manner and officers will be able to carry out their duties well.

He said, the implementation of the second PSBB was really maximized to prevent the spread of the corona virus in W Sumatra.

“To achieve this target, the W Sumatra Provincial Government needs to collaborate with all elements ranging from the government, Indonesian Military, National Police, religious leaders to the community”, he said.

According to him, the Covid-19 outbreak cannot be predicted when it ends in W Sumatra.

“We have to solid to overcome Covid-19, and disciplined to carry it out,” he said.

He hopes that every officer in carrying out his duties in the field must focus on supervision and patrol in the area.

Patrols are carried out to encourage people not to gather around, to appeal to stay at home and to encourage healthy living.

For people who do activities outside should use a mask and keep their distance, he said.
