Three villages in Bukittinggi in COVID-19 red zone

Bukittinggi (ANTARA) - Mayor of Bukittinggi, W Sumatra M Ramlan Nurmatias stated that three villages in the area are the red zone of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

"The red zone at Puhun Tembok, Gulai Bancah and Aur Tajungkang Tengah Sawah," he said in Bukittinggi, on Tuesday.

The red zone COVID-19 is a priority area of monitoring but other areas are also still monitored and given precautionary measures to spread the COVID-19.

"For example, on Saturday (4/11) there was a rapid test for residents of Tengah Sawah because there was one positive case of COVID-19. Residents around it did a rapid test and the results were negative," he said.

Until Tuesday (4/14) afternoon, Ramlan said there were five people in the area who were positive for COVID-19 and one resident died.

"Now five residents are still positive, but the good news is that their conditions have begun to improve. Now we are focusing on residents returning to their villages to get treatment as soon as possible to reduce the risk of spreading the virus," he said.

Residents are asked not to panic about the current conditions and obey the suggestion of the government to do jot go outside if it is not important and to maintain a safe distance of one meter more when interacting with other persons by using a mask.

In addition, residents are also asked to diligently wash hands, keep healthy, eat nutritious foods and do not stress to avoid the risk of transmission of the virus that attacks the respiratory tract.

He said the regional government had prepared a budget of Rp53 billion to handle the impact of the Covid-19.

These costs are used the most for the provision of food assistance needs of citizens for the next three months and costs for needs at the local Health Office.

"We hope this condition will end soon. We urge people to stay at home to break the spread of the virus," he said.
