Painan (ANTARA) - The government of Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra has restricted the use of roads in the Mandeh area - Kota Padang to maximize the monitoring of people coming to the local area in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"According to instructions from the Regent of Pesisir Selatan, Hendrajoni, the restriction has been carried out since yesterday," said Rinaldi, Head of the Pesisir Selatan Public Relations and Protocol Section in Painan, Thursday.
Restrictions were directed at people who passed there but not those who settled in several villages in the Mandeh area.
With restrictions, the medical post at the regional boundary between Pesisir Selatan and Padang City will operate optimally.
The restriction is also to ensure that people who enter the area undergo a medical examination first.
Until yesterday, The Task Force for Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling in the local district recorded the number of travelers from the area infected of COVID-19 to the local area totaling 2,550 people.
While on Wednesday (4/1) the number of travelers recorded only 2,125 people.
Tourists are also advised to check their health to the nearest health service regularly.
If there are symptoms that are suspected to COVID-19 to isolate themselves independently or at a location prepared by the government for at least 14 days.
He said the medical posts at the boundary in the area totaled three units, one in Padang City boundary, the second in Jambi and Bengkulu provinces boundary.
