Padang (ANTARA) - Government of Padang City appoints the Rasidin Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) located in Gunung Sarik Kuranji Padang as a special hospital to treat patients infected with Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).
"Based on the meetiing results of the Forkopimda and the results of coordination with the provinces, it was agreed by the Rasidin Regional Public Hospital as a special hospital for COVID-19," Padang Mayor Mahyeldi said in Padang on Wednesday.
According to him the decision took effect yesterday and all patients other than corona began to be transferred to other hospitals.
Mahyeldi explained that residents who were under surveillance and patients under surveillance would be quarantined in this hospital.
Including residents from outside Padang who had just traveled from the infected area, he said.
At present, preparations have begun to be made, including supporting equipment and personal protective equipment for medical personnel.
He conveyed that Rasidin Regional Public Hospital will be used to treat COVID-19 patients until the outbreak ends.
For medical staff, he said that he is currently preparing the medical staff to stay at a hotel.
"For equipment and PPE there are many parties who help from private companies to the community," he said.
Mahyeldi said that until yesterday in Padang there were 2,727 people with the status of travelers from infected areas, 96 people under surveillance, 11 patients under surveillance, 6 positive people, 1 dead, 4 negative and 1 person is waiting for test results.
