Padang (ANTARA) - Health Agency of Padang took the initiative to make a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of hazmat clothing for medical personnel who handle corona patients by empowering Micro and Small Enterprises engaged in the field of convection.
"The PPE needs are very large, one patient needs 10 complete clothes a day and that is for 14 days so that the total is 140, and the officers who conduct screening to the field also need PPE," said Head of Padang Health Agency Ferry Mulyani in Padang on Saturday.
According to him to overcome it finally his side made itself by empowering MSMEs.
We bought the material, the stitching model was shown even to the zipper and the rubber was also searched so that the SMEs just sew, he said.
Besides complete clothing, one of the PPE that is currently scarce is a mask.
"We urge people to wear masks made of cloth and don't forget to wash it," he said.
Regarding hand sanitizer, it can be overcome because everyone can make it.
The city government of Padang has also trained one person per village to make it.
He appealed to residents of Padang to postpone travel to areas affected by the Corona virus and focus on physical distancing at home.
From the positive cases of corona in Padang, commonly, they have traveled to infected areas, he said.
Based on data collected from the Padang Health Agency until Saturday March 28, 2020 in Padang there were 1,631 travelers from the affected area, 90 people under surveillance, seven patients under surveillance, three positive, one died and four people awaiting test results.
