Padang, (ANTARA) - Health Service of Padang City ensured that until March 17, 2020 there were no positive citizens of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).

"Of the 241 Padang residents with the status of People with Monitoring until now are in good conditions," Padang City Health Office Head Feri Mulyani said here on Tuesday.

He explained that people with monitoring were those who had just traveled to the area affected by corona but were not sick and upon arrival at the airport, their body temperature was normal.

While people with patient status under surveillance are those who show corona symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose and shortness of breath.

Next suspect is the patient who shows symptoms of corona and is suspected of making contact with positive patients.

He said positive patients would be checked their specimens such as polymerase chain and genome sequencing.

Corona currently affects 135 countries and in Indonesia there are eight regions, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Bali and Yogyakarta.

Ferry said that the arrival up to 14 days , Padang residents with monitoring status would be monitored and carried out isolation independently while still coordinating with health workers.

"They are asked not to contact other people, keep a distance of one meter, always wear a mask and when sneezing use ethics that is to keep your mouth shut," he said.

He conveyed the data of people in monitoring from the Port Health Office who were recorded when they arrived at the Minangkabau International Airport.

"However, Padang residents from eight affected provinces are asked to report independently through telephone service 081261239600 to conduct independent isolation," he appealed.

He explained that corona is a disease caused by a virus that was found first in Wuhan China with a very rapid spread.
