Padang (ANTARA) - Director of Tourism Malaysia Medan , Hishamuddin Mustafa convinced the Indonesian people, especially W Sumatra residents that Malaysia is safe for tourists to visit although currently there is a spread of Corona Virus Desease (Covid-19)
"We do not deny that Covid19 is influencing the current trend of traveling abroad," he said in Padang on Sunday
According to him the decline in the number of foreign tourists occurred in almost all countries in the world.
He assured that Malaysia is a country experienced in dealing with the threat of plague or virus.
The Malaysian government has formed a Agency called the Tourism Recovery Committee to monitor the development and handling of COVID19 in Malaysia.
"We say Malaysia is safe, and we invite tourists from Indonesia, especially W Sumatra to come and have a pleasant experience in Malaysia," he said.
There are several things that make Malaysia a destination for W Sumatra residents. First, cheap flights and direct flights three times a day.
Thus Malaysia has the best health care facilities and has been recognized by the world.
Tourism Malaysia is currently promoting its leading tourist attraction to travel agents throughout the City of Padang at the Kriyad Bumiminang Hotel in the Astindo Travel Fair event held in Padang City
Tourism Malaysia brought a number of their travel agents such as the Bumiputra Perak Association, Melaka River Cruise, The Pines Melaka, Glek Hotel Melaka, Perak Adventure Travel, Berjaya Hotel, ITTI and Mahkota Medical Center Melaka.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Astindo W Sumatra, Nasirman Chan said this activity was aimed at strengthening the friendship between the two regions namely Indonesia and Malaysia.
In addition, it provides an opportunity for Tourism Malaysia to provide the latest travel information about Malaysian tourism to travel agents in the city of Padang, thereby strengthening business relationships in the tourism sector.
He hopes this activity will also increase the number of tourist arrivals from Malaysia to W Sumatra.
According to him, for three days, travel agents from Malaysia will visit a number of leading tourism objects in W Sumatra so that they will bring information that W Sumatra is a beautiful and comfortable area to visit.
