Head of the Padang City Tourism Office, Arfian in Padang on Tuesday said the activity had become an annual agenda of the Padang City Tourism Office which was launched in January 2020.
"This is a cultural activity that has been developing for quite a long time in Padang City, so the Padang City Tourism Office will fully support this activity," he said.
He hopes in the future these activities will continue to grow and develop in the city of Padang.
"We will continue to support and accommodate every cultural activity held by ethnic groups in the city of Padang," he said.
Like the agenda of the Serak Gulo held by ethnic Indians in Padang, it has been budgeted by Local government budget( APBD), he said.
"Specifically for Chinese people, we will try to budget for the 2021 APBD," he said.
He said the activity was also a means to strengthen a sense of togetherness, brotherhood and tolerance in the midst of the heterogeneous life of the people of Padang City.
" Cap Go Meh showed a good acculturation from the community in the city of Padang," he said.
