Pariaman (ANTARA) - Fishing boat from Tiku Agam Regency, W Sumatra KM. Srijaya 07 was stranded on the beach of Manggung Village, Pariaman Utara District, Pariaman City, on Wednesday morning with severe damage.

"There were 14 crew members and one captain in the chart and all of them survived," Pariaman Police Chief Andry Kurniawan said on Wednesday.

He said the boat was stranded due to sea waves crashing around 02:00 PM and after that the boat's engine off.

Then, the captain of the ship ordered the crew to lower the anchor to stabilize the boat.

But the condition got worse because the boat leaked so that the anchor rope was broken and the captain of the boat tried to turn on the engine again but it still wouldn't start.

At around 3:00 AM the KM Srijaya 07 vessel was hit again by a high wave and stranded on the shore of the village of Mangguang with severe damage.

From the observation, it can be seen that the owner of the boat take off the part that could be saved, including the machine assisted by a number of young men from Manguang Village.

He estimated the losses incurred at the event were around Rp. 300 million.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Akhirudin said boat owner had put an anchor on Kasiak Island but was carried to the beach.

"This was known by residents this morning, but they did not know what time it was," he added.
