Amateur Boxing Championship for the 2019 Padang Mayor's Cup compete in 17 categories

Padang (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association (Pertina) of Padang City will hold the Amateur Boxing Championship for the Padang Mayor 2019 Cup which will compete in 17 categories on 22-28 December 2019.

"This championship is a pre-16th Provincial Sports Week which will be held in Padang, followed by all boxers in W Sumatra," said Padang, Syahrial Kina, Head of the City Hall in Padang, on Wednesday.

According to him through this championship will filter the best boxers to be sent to the Provincial Sports Week which will be held in 2020.

"We invite all boxers in W Sumatra and the best boxers will be sent to the Provincial Sports Week in 2020," he said.

The championship is held at GOR Tenis Telkom Padang Baru at 16.00 WIB until finished.

He hopes that this championship can make boxing athletes more excited.

This activity is also a means of channeling positive energy for the younger generation.

W Sumatra's potential for boxers is quite good, this is also a means of channeling excess energy to prevent brawls between young people, he said.

While the General Secretary of the Padang City Pertina, Dodi Damanik said that this activity was the second as a commitment of the Padang City Pertina to get the best boxers

"There are 17 categories of sons and daughters fighting for the Padang Mayor's rotating trophy," he said.

He said that this event was also a place for boxing athletes to be coached and to optimize the potential in W Sumatra.

In the future, we hope that boxers from Padang can win gold medals in The National Sports Week, he said.
