Pariaman (ANTARA) - Pariaman City, W Sumatra, is hosting the commemoration of National Archipelago Day on December 13, 2019 at Gandoriah Beach and will be filled the activities with maritime theme .
"Today we are holding a joint meeting with the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian Army and other parties to ensure readiness to host," Mayor Pariaman Genius Umar said on Thursday.
He said that there were many activities carried out on the commemoration of the National Archipelago Day, including cleaning the beach, maritime activities and displaying a thousand 'gadang tasa'.
In addition, there is a naval ship to be a place for health checks for residents of Pariaman City and Padang Pariaman Regency.
"So there are a lot of activities, there are social services, arts and tourism, and even swimming competitions with naval participants," he said.
He hoped that the commemoration of the National Archipelago Day was attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia so that his party could convey the development progress in Pariaman.
"Later we will convey related to the development of national development programs in Pariaman," he said.
He mentioned the program, which started from waterfront city, Pariaman market development and tourism.
Therefore, it seeks to host the commemoration of the National Archipelago Day in order to attract more national programs to Pariaman to accelerate development in the area.
"Pariaman is ready as the host and the background is our passion to be at the national level," he said.
