Student of UPI "YPTK" represented West Sumatra following the Indonesian Youth Jamboree

Padang (ANTARA) - Student of University of Putra Indonesia or UPI YPTK Padang, Febri Pertiwi was chosen to represent W Sumatra following the Indonesian Youth Jamboree (JPI) in Tondano, Minahasa, North Sulawesi on October 31 to November 6, 2019.

"I followed the selection in Solok Regency about knowledge of youth, youth organizations, general knowledge, and aptitude and interest tests. The selection is quite strict, and thank God I was elected to represent W Sumatra, "said Febri in Padang, on Wednesday.

JPI is the grand meeting of Indonesia's best youths in the annual agenda held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora RI) to commemorate Hari Sumpah Pemuda (Youth Pledge Day) on October 28.

After being elected in Solok Regency, she had to take part in the selection at the provincial level competing against representatives of the best youth in W Sumatra.

"I am grateful to have finally been elected to the W Sumatra delegation to participate in this JPI. I will continue to make the best achievements, for me to present to the campus, the region, and especially to the family, "she said.

Febri was born from a poor family. Since in the sixth grade of elementary school her father died. Her mother is sixties years old in a condition often sick. Stay in a Rumah Gadang that has a lot of damage. However, this condition does not prevent achievement in various fields.

Her academic achievements have also been seen since junior high school, from class 1-3 always champion class. She also participated in the Indonesian Language Olympiad. When she was senior high school she sat in a superior class and participated in various competitions and debates.

Besides made various achievements, Febri's big goal is to be able to finish college on time with high grades.

"I want to get a scholarship to pay for college and my other needs, because my parents are economically disadvantaged. My father was passed away, Mother is also old and often sick, "she said.

Febri also advised other young people to continue to excel, even with difficult economic conditions.
