Batusangkar (ANTARA) - Talago Anguih is becoming a new tourist destination in Tanah Datar District, West Sumatra. The object that began to be visited during the holiday was located at Simpang Kulik Manih, Nagari Taluak, Lintau Buo District.

Talago Anguih is a 2.5-hectare watershed like a small lake but in the area has been equipped with a number of children's playgrounds such as water bikes to go along the lake. Only paying Rp. 10,000 can be enjoyed with a capacity of two adults and two children.

The tourist manager of Talago Anguih, Delfi Adridi Batusangkar, said on Monday that the talago or lake had only been opened to the public after Eid Al-Fitr 1440 Hijri.

This started from the youth of Nagari Taluak who had formed a Tourism Awareness Group agreeing with Mamak or traditional leaders and community leaders to make Talago Anguih become tourist attraction, and one of the business units of the Nagari-Owned Business Entity (BUMNag).

Through the Nagari funds, they purchased four units of water bikes, three units of rowing boats, and one unit of boat engines, said Delfi, who is also Chairman of BUMNag Nagari Taluak.

After becoming a tourist destination, the existence of Talago Anguih had an impact on the economy of the local community.

It can be seen from the number of visitors that came as a new business opportunity for local residents to open a business selling around tourist attractions.

Seeing the great opportunities in the future, he will build a number of other supporting facilities so that there is always a new vehicle for play around Talago Anguih.

The electricity network, construction of photo spots, playing fox, and representative dock for the ship's backrest are urgent, including buildings for Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises traders selling.

He hoped that this development could be supported by the local government, especially the Tanah Datar Tourism Office, and the participation of the nomads.

"To build it all requires quite a lot of money, while Nagari funds are limited, we hope there will be assistance from the government and nomads," he said.

The use of Talago Anguih can also irrigate the surrounding farmers' fields. Because Talagoini water has also irrigated the fields below.

Wali Nagari Taluak Pendi Aswil said that the development of Talago Anguih became a tourist attraction to provide a source of income for the Nagari.

The boat race event which was held on Saturday June 15 became an interesting event for the community and the area became crowded not only from the surrounding residents, but also from other city districts.

"If the event can be entered into the tourism calendar, the Tanah Datar government will certainly be very good," he said.

He appreciated the local youth who have managed Talago Anguih as a new tourist destination in Lintau Buo, in particular and Tanah Datar generally. (*)
